Become a Trustee

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Trustee of the Trumansburg Charitable Trust.

Operating since 1994, the Trust was formed at the bequest of longtime resident of Trumansburg, Edward F. Moseley. Mr. Moseley sought to sustain a high level of education in Trumansburg and to attract talented and motivated people to the teaching profession. Thus, he left his entire estate to establish the Trust, with the intention of providing financial support to

“… students who are seniors or graduates of the Trumansburg Central School District, teachers and aides employed in said District and who are engaged in such employment or accepted so as to be engaged in a course of study at the level of primary or secondary education (four year college or post graduate study at an accredited institution and engaged in obtaining teaching certification) who are deemed to be of scholastic merit.”

Trustee responsibilities include the following:

  • Reside in the Trumansburg Central School District
  • Be familiar with the By-Laws of the Trust
  • Attend meetings (3-5 per year)
  • Vote on motions/decisions to further the work of the Trust
  • Review applications and interview scholarship candidates (1 application cycle per year)
  • Promote the work of the Trust

Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Have lived in Tburg district for 5+ years
  • Past or present connection to Tburg school community (parent, student, employee, volunteer, etc)
  • Interest in serving the community/education
  • Willing to serve 5 year term (renewable), attend meetings, participate in interview process
